Coimbatore airport is situated at Peelamedu, about 8 km from the city and has flights to all major destinations in India. This is the second busiest airport in Tamilnadu after the Chennai airport. There are domestic airline services by Indian Airlines to major Indian cities like Chennai, Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikkode and Mumbai, Jet Airways has services to Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai. Air Sahara operates flight between Coimbatore and Hyderabad. Paramount Airways and Air Deccan also has services to major destinations in India. Kingfisher Airlines operates services to Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jammu and Pune. There is an international service to Sharjah by the Indian Airlines.
