Electronics Corporation of Tamilnadu Limited (ELCOT) is promoting Information Technology in Tamil Nadu through Open Source Software Technology.

ELCOT which was registered in the year 1977 has been rendering , interalia, the valuable services to the various Departments of the Government of Tamil Nadu, Public Sector Undertakings / Boards in Tamil Nadu in the fields of electronics and Information Technology in particular.

The role of ELCOT in the recent years has been mainly to act as the procurement agency for the Government of Tamil Nadu, Public Sector Undertakings / Boards for the procurement and supply of the IT and IT related products and the scope of the procurement services is expected to increase substantially in the years to come.
