Sri Sankara Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School on Tambaram Velachery Main Road at East Tambaram is perhaps the oldest Sankara Institution commenced by Sri Sankaracharya Swamigal of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam.
Founded in 1976 with a humble beginning with just 33 students SSV has grown steadily to reach the present statute level of just over 3000 students.
SSV has been recording its excellence in Board Examinations (X Matric & XII Higher Secondary) with centum results, all first class & special distinctions at District & State level.
