Dr. Natteri V. Chandran founded The East West Foundation of India (TEWFI) in 1992. They have supporters across the globe helping in a variety of ways, including donating funds and volunteering skills.
TEWFI began with the collection of medical and nursing textbooks, journals and medicines from overseas and their distribution to various charitable health care organizations in India.
Then in 1994, in association with the Schizophrenia Care and Research Foundation (SCARF), we assisted with the construction of a psychiatric hospital for the poor and disadvantaged in Chennai.
