The Tamilnadu Handicrafts Development Corporation provide marketing assistance to the craftsmen which it is doing by selling their wares through its large network of 17 showrooms spread all over Tamil Nadu and also at New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Pondicherry. The Tamilnadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (TNHDCL) is a state-owned enterprise that promotes and supports the development of handicrafts in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The corporation was established in 1973 with the objective of providing support to traditional artisans and handicrafts workers in the state.

The TNHDCL aims to preserve and promote traditional Tamil Nadu handicrafts such as Tanjore paintings, bronze and brass works, stone carvings, wood carvings, silk and cotton textiles, and bamboo and cane products. The corporation provides various services to the artisans and handicrafts workers such as design and technical assistance, training, raw material procurement, and marketing support.

TNHDCL has showrooms and sales outlets in various parts of Tamil Nadu, as well as in other parts of India and overseas. The corporation also participates in various trade fairs and exhibitions to showcase the traditional handicrafts of Tamil Nadu and to promote their exports. Through these efforts, TNHDCL has been able to create a market for traditional Tamil Nadu handicrafts and to generate employment opportunities for the artisans and handicrafts workers in the state.

The Corporation has its own production facilities for the craftsof bronze icons,brass lamps, Stone sculptures, Tanjore art plates and sandalwood carvings.

Added to its production and marketing activities the Corporation has also been, as a measure diversification, executing various special temple projects for temples in Tamil Nadu and other States.
