Chennai Telecom, Broadband, Cable and DTH
Mobile Network in Chennai
RPG and Skycell started mobile phone revolution in Chennai few years ago and later other major mobile operators in Indian joined and improved the network coverage, signal quality and introduced new mobile technologies and features. Now there are six mobile phone operators in Chennai.
GSM Operators : Airtel, Aircell, BSNL and Hutch.
CDMA Operators : Tata Indicom and Reliance Infocom
Landline Operators
BSNL has a separate division called Chennai Telephoes to take care of their operations in Chennai. Tata Indicom, Relinace and Airtel also providing landphones in Chennai.
Chennai Broadband
BSNL, Bharti(Airtel), Reliance Infocom, Tata (VSNL) Sify and Hathway are the broadband and dialup internet connection providers in Chennai.
Cable TV and DTH
Cable TV Service is providing by Hathway and SCV (Sun Network)
DTH is providing by DD Direct Plus, Dish TV, and Tata Sky.

Tiruvottiyur Temple
Tiruvottiur is 10km away from Chennai city. It is a city and municipality in Thiruvallur district.
Thiagarajaswamy-Vadivudai Amman kovil is located in the center of the town, a temple dedicated to lord Shiva and goddess Shakti. This temple was visited by many saints and poets like Appar, Sundarar, Gnana Sambandhar, Thyagayyar, Vallalar, Valmiki, Kambar etc. It is many centuries old and said to be the first temple on earth after Maha Pralayam.
In Tiruvottiyur Lord Siva present in three forms. In a formless form as Agni, with form as Swayambu and in an indescribable form as Padampakka Nathar.
Apart from Siva and Shakthi shrines there are many shrines devoted to Lord Muruga, Lord Ganesha, Dhakshinamoorthi, Anjaneyar, Kuzhanthai Eesar etc

MRTS Chennai
Chennai Suburban Network
Chennai already has a well connected suburban rail network. First service started in 1931 from Beach to Tambaram. Again two more suburban services started from Chennai Central one to Arakkonam and other one to Gummidipoondi.

MRTS Phase I
Mass Rapid Transit System is the fourth suburban network in Chennai connecting North, Central and South Chennai. First phase of MRTS was opened in 1997 connection Beach to Tirumaylai. MRTS trains go through Tambaram line and pass Fort and Park stations and then enter to the elevated section. Stations in this section are Chintadripet, Chepauk, Tiruvallikeni, and Lighthouse. It finally ends up in Tirumaylai.

MRTS Phase II
The second phase of MRTS connects Tirumaylai to Velachery but at present it stops at Tiruvanmiyur. Stations between Tirumaylai and Thiruvanmiyur are Mandaveli, Greenways Road, Kotturpuram, Kasturba Nagar and Indira Nagar. Velachery line supposed to be opened by early 2007.
