Director Shankar comes up with another romantic thriller with Vikram in the leading role. Amy Jackson will play heroine in the movie titled as 'I'. V. Ravichandran produces the movie for Aascar Films.

Screenplay is by popular dialogue writers Suba (D Suresh and A N Balakrishnan). A R Rehman composes music for the lyrics of Kapilan. Vijay Prakash sings for 'I'. P C Sreeram cranks camera. Antony who did the editing works for the Hollywood movie Harry Potter will be the editor for 'I' as well.

A lot of technicians from Hollywood will work for Shankar's 'I'. This is a big budgeted film. Australia's Rising Sun Pictures who gave special effects to Harry Potter movies will handle the special effects of 'I'.

Vikram appears in two different get ups in 'I'. So he is working out and preparing his body for the same. Samantha was announced as the female lead in the movie, but later replaced by Amy Jackson. She plays the role of an international model in this film.
