Thambivudayaan granted release after it has changed usage of name Cauvery from the film.

Tamil film Director Raja Mahesh’s Thambivudayaan had been denied certificate and banned earlier by the Censor Board after the director refused to delete some scenes, saying that they are very important to be deleted.
Later director approached the revising committee and showed them the film and cleared with cuts in 45 portions of the film.

The hero of Thambivudayaan abducts the wife and children of a powerful minister and says they would be released only if the minister ordered the release of water to the starving farmers of Thanjavur region.

Cauvery problem has been there for decades but it still remains unresolved. The director too is from Thanjavur district.

Raja Mahesh's film stars newcomers Adhithya and Manisha Chatterjee in the lead roles and is about this unending Cauvery water dispute.

Thambivudayaan has been produced by Maheswari Raja and Agneeshwar Anbu while the music has been composed by Shravan.
