| This is the first time I watched a movie in theatre on Deepavali and I will never do it again. Director K.S. Ravikumar's strength is movies like Nattamai and he should not experiment with things he is not comfortable with. First chase in the movie is lifted from Ayan. Sorry Surya in how many movies are you planning to jump across the roof? Another two movies like this and Surya will fade into the background inspite of his talent. I feel it is better for Nayan to get married and settle down, atleast producer can save some money instead of spending it on some other glamorous women who has to share the screen space with Nayan in song sequences to increase the glamour quotient. Choreography is also bad. Jodi No.1 and manada and mayilada has better choreography. Vadivelu's comedy is good but stale in most of the places. Commercial movies like Aadhavan can be tolerated and appreciated to certain extent, if they are short and crisp. So many scenes of saroja Devi amma and Ramesh Khanna are just boring and could have been avoided. Audience were booing for the animated scenes of Surya as a ten year old boy and some stunt sequences. Two people are the losers in this movie inspite of delivering good perfomance- Surya and Harris Jeyaraj. I saw another review where the reviewer has said that it is difficult to make a movie. Ofcourse it is difficult to make a good movie, but this movie is not from first time director but a seasoned director like KSR and it is a thorough disappointment. |

| I had the misfortune of watching this movie on the day of its release. The most important thing abt the movie is that none of the actors other than vadivelu and murali seem to have justified their presence on screen. Well other than the fact that suriya is the hero of the movie there is nothing else worthwhile abt this so called chick flick.
Surya who has done meaningful and brilliant roles gave the script a miss assuming KSR would take care of it. well guess suriya would be disappointed with the out come or not.( he was seen happily promoting the movie in many of the interviews)
Well we have seen a number of movies along similar lines. The main protagonist of the movie is undoubtedly vadivelu. Who does manage to tickle the funny bone more than once. Just when his histrionics reach a point beyond being bearable we have the much awaited intermission. vadivelu literally occupies 95% of the movie time and has shouldered the heavy responsibility to move this morbid script forward.
Yesteryear actress saroja devi has been thoroughly wasted and she does nothing but apply make up and dance for one or rather two songs.
Late shri murali has done a commendable job and forms the mainstay of the movie.
Nayan looks jaded and does nothing new other than breaking into a song sequence.
The biggest disappointment is the music. harris jeyaraj who has given us some real splendid music in the past lets all his fans down. Other than hasile fisile nothing lingers in your mind long enough.
KSR should definitely take a leaf or two out of shankars book. I might not be justified in drawing similarities but nonetheless The much hyped "10 year old suriya" episode is such a let down. he so much reminds me of frodo baggins of the lord of the rings trilogy.
KSR brilliantly creates oppurtunities for suriya in the movie to showcase his talents well apart from acting that is. the episode where he does those asanas for instance.
The costumes in some of the songs so remind us of aamirs in gajini (behka mein behka song)
The fight sequences seem to continue from where surya left off in ayan.
The song for heroine intro is not justified at all.( well matter of fact none of them are justified).
Just to assume that the audience can take any crap dished out to us KSR takes his commercial elements a bit too far.
He makes it a point to appear in a song in most of his movies or as a miniscule character. This time he does so in the climax well with the producer in tow.
The movie is slow in the first half but picks up speed in the second. Well after the first half u know wat to expect in the second and u r definitely not let down. LOL
this is definitely a MISS MISS flick from the stables of Red Giant Movies and KSR and last but not the least SURIYA
On the whole this KSR SURIYA& UDHAYANIDHI STALIN flick is a big no no. |

Was very impressed with the promos and hence watched it on the day it was released.
The director has guessed that all viewers are idiots and have no brains of their own.
With that intention this movie has been made.
The movie starts with showing Surya's prowess as a killer. Surya has overacted so much that i was taken much by surprise.Couldnt stand/tolerate the movie within the first 10 minutes of its start..
Nayantara looks slim and fit but her face doesnt look the same as before. I wonder why Saroja devi was roped in...Couldnt tolerate looking at her sporting pitch black hair and ridiculous make up,not to forget her squeaking voice.Why misuse actors like surya,nayantara,murali and saroja devi in such a useless flick which makes them look like Jokers..
I totally believe that the success of a movie not only depends on talent but a good story line,direction as well.
The story line sucked and was absolutely senseless.The director has tried his best to fit songs in different portions of the movie and it turns out to be absolutely disgusting.
Just two songs of this movie hasili fisli and varayo..were good..to hear(i repeat 'to hear')
I wonder if K.S.Ravikumar has lost his mind!!!! The only saving grace in this movie was Vadivel's comdey which was entertaing 'at times'.This movie is not worth watching even a single time! Save your time guys..and do something better/useful than watching/spending over this useless flick. Save Urself!!! |

| It is a another commercial movie. The film is no story but racy screenplay. There is no logic but magic is more. KSR treatment is super . His direction is super. The film is not maintain any Suspense till the end. 10 year old boy concept is good but the screen have less in graphics Surya not like a 10 year old boy. More attention for that. It is not necessary Surya acting as a child. Nayantara is super with less glamour. Vadivelu acting is super and comedy scenes are come out well . Music is average. |

| Surya is super in Aadhavan. The film is commercial entertainment. I am a Surya fan wise film is wonderful. But KSR fan the film is to be an lack of story. Songs are good especially in hasile fesile, dhamak dhamak, and yeno panithuli is super. The fifth song is totally waste. Background music is bore. The film has lack of weight in story. Vadivelu comedy is super and fantastic. Stunts are marvellous. Nayanthara is a good but her character role is waste. Surya imitating the sivaji, MGR but it is a comedy. This film is a commercial entertainer. |

| Movie is a great entertainer. Movie is not strong on the story or logic side but the delivery of the movie is well done. Fast paced, songs are superbly done and comedy by vadivelu and suriya bring the house down. 4/5 |
