An Assam Rifles jawan shot and killed 5 of his colleagues and a Junior Commissioned Officer at Ukhrul in Manipur. After shooting, he fled with the weapon.

The shooting was followed after an altercation between the jawan and his colleagues. Army has set out massive search for the jawan. Enquiry into the incident is also ordered.

The accused is from Nagaland and is said to have a good service record of more than three years.
