Sri Lankan government today said that Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam is using Tamil Nadu leaders to pressurize them for a ceasefire to escape from the defeat.

Sri Lankan government claimed that their forces advanced to many LTTE core areas and LTTE is on the verge of defeat.

"So they are pressurizing Indian Government through Tamil Nadu leaders to stop the military action against them" Defense Secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said.

At the same time Tamil Nadu parties unanimously stands for the safety of Tamil people in Sri Lanka.

Yesterday Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, T R Balu said that Dravida Munnetra Kazhakam and Chief Minister Karunanidhi would not be a silent spectator to the killing of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Pattali Makkal Katchi leader Ramdoss said that this issue related with life of 52 lakh Tamils in Sri Lanka not just LTTE.

Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhakam leader Vijayakanth urged center to stop military aid to Sri Lanka.
