R R Patil stepped down from the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra a day after Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil resigned taking moral responsibility of Mumbai terror attacks.

On Saturday Patil had described Mumbai terror attack as a small incident in a big city. This lead to serious criticism from all sides and this eventually forced him to resign from the post.

Rumors that Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh also will be removed as there is tremendous pressure on the Congress High Command for his resignation.
