MNS chief Raj Thackeray surrendered in Mumbai Court
15 November 2008, 04:25pm IST

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray surrendered in Mazagaon court in connection with a non-bailable warrant issued against him. Police arrested him after his surrender in the court.

The warrant against Thackeray had been issued by the Jamshedpur court for his alleged defamatory utterances against Biharis. Thackeray had earlier moved Jharkhand High Court seeking a stay on the non-bailable arrest warrant, but the High Court did not provide any interim relief to him.

Raj Thackeray has been granted bail at a personal bond of Rs 50,000.
