Indian skipper MS Dhoni threatened to quit as captain over the exclusion of Rudra Pratap Singh from the ODI side which plays against England in the next 4 matches in the Hero Honda Cup. RP Singh was replaced by Irfan Pathan.
But BCCI and Captain Dhoni rejects this news. "I do not know from where the reports of my resigning emerged," said Dhoni. "I can't respond to something that is being floated around by somebody," BCCI secretary N Srinivisan said.
According to reports, MS Dhoni and the Indian selectors had an argument over the same during the selection meet. The newly formed selection committee, headed by former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkanth had met on Wednesday (November 19) for the team selections when the differences apparently cropped up.
BCCI President Shashank Manohar was forced to interfere to sort out the issue, reports added. Last year, Rahul Dravid too had relinquished captaincy because of the lack of say in selection matters.
