Even though US markets collapsed yesterday, Indian markets recovered in today's trading thanks to positive sentiments in Asia and Europe.
Sensex closed at 8915, up 464 points or 5.49 percent. Nifty surged 6.26 percent and closed at 2712.
Power, Capital Goods and Oil & Gas indices were the major gainers.
Reliance communications, Reliance Infra, Sterlite and NTPC were the major Sensex gainers.
Hang Seng ended with 2.93% gain and Nikkei 225 closed at 7910, up 2.7 percent.
Europe also trading in green with 1 to 2 percent gains.
