Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex closed on Firday at 9,788 up 743 points (8.22%).
Metal Index surged 10.2 percent, Oil and Gas (9.1%), Bankex (7.2%) and Teck (6.6%) are the other indices reported sharp gains today.
In individual stocks Mahindra and Mahindra zoomed 23 percent, HDFC (17.48 %), Jaiprakash Associates (16.55%), ICIC Bank (15.5%), Sterlite Industries (14.48%), Reliance Industries (13.81%), Reliance Communications (13.76%), Hindalco (13.26%), Tata Steel (12.14%), Tata Power (11.86%) and Tata Motors (9.11%).
Ranbaxy (-1.97%) and TCS (-0.93) closed in red amid strong positive sentiment across the board.
S&P CNX Nifty closed at 2885 up 6.99%.
