Indian stock markets plunged again on Thursday as worries about global recession forced investors to sell their holdings.
BSE sensex ended at 8451, down 322 points or 3.68 percent and NSE Nifty closed at 2553, down 81 points or 3.21 percent.
During intra-day Sensex touched a low of 8316 and high of 8540.
BSE Realty index was down -8.30 percent.
DLF (-8.56%), Rel Communications (-8.32%), Sterlite (-7.96%) and ICICI Bank (-7.87%) were the major Sensex losers.
Asian markets ended sharply lower. Nikkei closed down by 6.89%, Kospi fell 6.7%, Hang Seng lost 4.04% ,Shanghai fell 1.67% and Straits lost 3.10%.
