Stocks opened sharply higher on Monday as investors relieved with steps by Reserve Bank of India on interest rates and strong global cues.
BSE Sensex opened at 10,209 up 421 points from Friday's close.
Finally it closed at 10,337 up 5.2 percent or 549 points. National Stock Exchange index Nifty closed at 3043 up 158 points or 5.48 percent.
Realty (8.29%), Capital Goods (8.19%), Bankex (7.51%), Power (6.48%) and PSU (6.14%) are the major gainers in BSE.
In individual stocks Reliance Infra surged 17.15 percent, DLF 14.89%, Jaiprakash 13.36%, Ranbaxy 12.33%, SBI 11.81%, Tata Motors 11.12% and L&T 10.78%.
Only Satyam Computers and Infosys Technologies closed in Red among Index stocks.
Except Nikkei all Asian markets are opened sharply higher on positive sentiments across the world.
Hangeng (2.7%), Straits Times (4.99%), Jakarta Composite (7.64%), KLSE Composite (4.14%) and All Ordinaries (4.78%) are the top gainers in Asia apart from Sensex (5.62%).
European markets also trading in green with 1 to 3 percent gains across the board.
