Tamil Nadu Government today hiked the DA for the state government employees, teachers and pensioners by 7%. This is on par with the Central Government employees.

An official press release said the payment would be made fully with effect from July 1, 2008. The increase in DA would cause the exchequer Rs 953 crore per year.
