Aayirathil Oruvan is a science thriller directed by Selvaraghavan. The film occupies Graphics for around 80 per cent.

Karthi Sivakumar, Surya’s brother who debuted in Paruthiveeran directed by Ameer has won laurels for his brilliant performance in that film. Earlier in his career Mani Rathnam offered a role in Aayitha Ezhuthu but Karthik rejected the offer as he wanted to do the lead. When Ameer, approached him to play the hero in his film Karthi accepted the offer. He was cast opposite actress Priya Mani in Paruthiveeran.

Glam doll Reema Sen is the heroine in Aayirathil Oruvan in which she is acting the role of a bio-scientist who invents a medicine with a potential to change the lives of people. Karthi plays the role of man who got transformed by her wonder medicine.

Azhagam Perumal, Prathap Pothan are all acting in this film.

Director turned actor Azhagam Perumal is donning the role of Reema’s father.

Selvaraghavan who is hyped for his adult oriented works will present a bunch of women posing topless as primitives in forest. For casting in this film he hasn’t got any junior artists from Tamilnadu and the production team has to bring artists from Mumbai.

The forests of Chalakkudy and deserts of Jaisalmer are some of the locations where the shooting has taken place. In Hyderabad a set has been erected inside Ramoji Rao Film City at a cost of Rs 5 crore.

The film will hit the screens late as the post production works including dubbing, background score et al could go into another 4 months.

While Karthi is gearing up for his other project which is directed by Suraaj, who is associated with Dhanush’s Padikathvan. Karthi will be sharing screen with his co-star of Paruthiveeran Priyamani. The other heroine is Anushka who is the heroine in Vijay’s Vettaikaran.
