26th has become a bad omen for India and many tragedies happened on 26th in the recent years.

One of the worst disaster India faced in recent decades, Indian Ocean Tsunami happened on December 26, 2004 killing thousands of people in India (total death toll around 225,000 people in eleven countries).

The 2001 Gujarat earthquake occurred on January 26, 2001 when India was celebrating its 51st Republic Day. 7.7 magnitude earthquake with epicenter at Bhuj killed more than 20,000 people and many more injured.

This year Ahmedabad serial blasts happened on 26th July. Last year Guwahati blasts happened on May 26th.

Mumbai floods in 2005, which killed more than 1000 people started on 26th July.

Now the terror strike at Taj, Oberoi and Nariman House started on November 26th.
