Debutant Gowtham is doing the lead role in the film Appavi directed by R Raghuraj who is a famous director in the Kannada film industry. Newbie Suhani is pairing with Gowtham.

The final stage of the shooting was held at Coorg in Karnataka. Songs which are written by Na Muthu Kumar and Vairamuthu was sung by Hariharan and Shreya Ghosal. Joshua Sridhar has composed the music.

The film narrates how economic growth stimulates anti-social elements and how an innocent man gets changed by these evil forces. The shooting of Appavi took place in Chennai, Kerala and Karnataka.

R Raghuraj has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the flick. Appavi is a film with a social message. R Raghuraj is simultaneously working on a Kannada film titled Boss, and plans to introduce many more newcomers.

Manobala, Suri, Sree Ranjini and Mahadevan are also in the cast. Appavi also has famous director and actor K. Bhagyaraj in a significant role. Dinesh is the choreographer. Action king Pazhani Raj handles the stunts. Krishnasamy wields the camera while V T Vijayan is in charge of editing.

V L Dhandapani is producing this film under the banner of Devi Visions Pvt Limited. This film is to be released in the month of December.
