Mahesh Raja debuts as hero opposite Udayathara in the film Bhayam Ariyan directed by debutant Prathesh who has previously assisted and co directed various films under the directors M. Kalanjiyam, Majid, and Kalaipuli G. Sekaran.

Udayathara the heroine of Bhayam Ariyan made impression in the romantic flick Kannum Kannum opposite Prasanna and Thee Nagar opposite Karan. Udayathara has replaced Sanuja who was originally supposed to play the lead role.

The film’s other characters are played by Kishore, Boys fame Manigandan, Saranya, Ponnambalam, Devikrupa, Aswathy, Kadhal Sugumar and Kottachi.

Bayam Ariyan was shot in Pondichery, Chennai, Kerala, Kulu, Manali besides London and Switzerland.

Bayam Ariyan deals with the significance of motherhood and the changes that unconditional love brings in a man. Actress and technicians stayed in the cemetery located in Pondicherry for 10 days continuously to shoot. 75% of the story takes place at night.

Music is tuned by P.C Shivan and there are six songs among which two has been sung by veterans like K.J Yesudas, and S.P Balasubramaniam.

Bayam Ariyan audio was launched at the film chamber in Chennai. Those present at the function were Venkat Prabhu, James Vasanthan, Sneha, Jai, and Vaibhav among others. Two songs and some scenes were screened.
