Guru Shishyan is the title of a hit Rajnikanth film. Director Sakthi Chidambaram has titled his next film starring Sathyaraj, Sundar.C, Vadivel and Hema Malini in the lead as Guru Sishyan.

Shakthi had earlier taken the title Rajathiraja of Rajnokanth in which Lawrence acted and led collection box ticking.

The new Guru Sishyan is a tale of two friends, who get separated and later join hands to eliminate anti-socials. The film is said to be a laugh riot, with lots of action and fun.

Sathyaraj has earlier worked with Sakthi for many films including Ennama Kannu, Englishkaran and Maha Nadigan. “We share a wonderful compatibility. We’d teamed up to render several hits. He is one of the very few actors, who has a great comedy sense. Working again with him is a delight” says director Sakthi.

Meanwhile Sathyaraj is preparing to share screen with Sarathkumar for an untitled movie to be directed by Sanjay Ram. Sathya Raj, who was part of over 100 films, is having a great time ever since he chose not to do stereotype roles.

Sakthi and Sundar C have made a hit movie titled Sandai. ‘As a director, Sundar came out with hilarious entertainers and he has proved his mettle in acting too’, says Sakthi.

The director revealed the film’s name during the Pooja of the film. Chidambaram has made clear that he has borrowed only the title of the earlier Rajinikanth- Prabhu film, and that this is not a remake.

The inaugural function of Guru Sishyan took place in Chennai. Sathyaraj requested Sakthi, to consider naming the central character in memory of Muthukumar who laid down his life for the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.

Ace directors and their assistants shared their experiences as guru and sishyans.

The film will have music by Dhina. The shooting of the film has started.

The film would be released in December. Sakthi Chidambaram is the director as well as producer of the film.
