Ilaignan is the 50th venture by popular director Suresh Krishna. This film is based on a novel penned by Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi. Music is composed by Vidyasagar.

Pa. Vijay, Remya Nambeeshan, Meera Jasmine, Khushboo, Namitha, Nasser, Vadivelu and Suman are in the main cast. Namitha is playing a negative role of a vamp in this film.

Ilaignan is produced by S Martin. Ilaignan is about a youngster and relationship to his mother and the situations he come across in his life. This will be a commercial entertainer with some social elements.

Pa Vijay plays the protagonist, while the important role of his mother Valliammai is played by Khushboo.

Camera is cranked by B.L.Sanjay. Lyrics are penned by Pa. Vijay. Art Director Thotta Tharani has made a big shop set for the movie. This ship has an important role in the film.

Ilaignan had a grand audio launch at Satyam Cinemas on December 5th. The audio was released by Kalaigner himself while the first copy was received by superstar Rajnikant.

Ilaignan is slated for release during Pongal.
