Jagan Mohini to grace theatres for Pongal

Jagan Mohini is the remake of the classic by the same name which was released in 1978. Yesteryear actress, Jayamalini played the title role in the old Jagan Mohini, which was made in Telugu and dubbed in Tamil. Inspiration drawn from the Vitalacharya's 'Jagan Mohini', a new version of the film is made in the same name, with the role of Jayamalini played by the glamorous south Indian actress Namitha.

Lakshmi Movie Makers have got the rights of Jagan Mohini from Vittalacharya's son and remade the film. The movie is expected to grace the theatres for Pongal. N K Viswanathan is directing the movie which is made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

The gorgeous glamour actress Namitha is acting as Jagan Mohini. She met with Jayamalini and got tips from her. Jagan Mohini is touted to be a horror film. The movie is shot in Thiru Malai Naikar Palace in Madurai.

‘Jagan Mohini’ Tamil version was launched at a glittering function in Madurai in which M K Azhagiri, son of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi took part. South Indian Film Chamber president KRG, Tamil Film Producer Council president Rama Narayanan, actor Raja, Namitha, Producer Anbalaya Prabhakaran and many others took part in the celebrations.

Jagan mohini Telugu version was launched at Nanakramguda, Hyderabad. Former Central minister and Tollywood biggie Dasari Narayana Rao sounded the clapboard, TFPC President Tammareddy Bharadwaj rendered the first shot direction.

Reports say that Namitha's Jagan Mohini has come out good so far. There are many interesting sequences in the movie including underwater sequences in Andamans. Raja is hero replacing Narasimha Raju in the old version. Nila plays as the second heroine in the movie. Kota Srinivasa Rao, Yuvarani, Narasimha Raju, Brahmanandam, Riyaz Khan and Madan Bob also feature in the film.

H Murali is producing the film in both Telugu and Tamil. Illyaraja is doing music for the film.
