Maatran is one of the much expected upcoming films of Surya. Earlier it was rumored that Surya will play the role of Siamese twins in the movie. But director K.V. Anand denied this saying that Surya will appear in five different get ups in Maatran.

Surya teams up with director K.V. Anand in this movie. They were together for the film Ayan. Maatran is expected to go on floors in March.

There are many rumours on the heroine of the film. It was heard that Bollywood actresses Sonakshi Sinha or Sonam Kapoor would play the leading lady role. But later there were rumors about Tapsee, Samantha or Kajal Agarwal, playing the role. Now the director tells that he has not approached any Bollywood heroines and is in look out for a young face as heroine.
