Miraculous escape in New York

US Airways flight 1549 with 155 people onbaord ditched into the Hudson River on Thursday night and all passengers miraculously escaped.

The US Airways Airbus A320 was headed to Charlotte, North Carolina and after few minutes of take off pilot reported a bird strike and reported an emergency landing.

Then the pilot said that he is heading for another nearby airport. That was the last message received by the Air Traffic Controllers from the pilot.

As per the latest reports both engines damaged by a double bird strike during take off at LaGuardia Airport and officials believe the plane may have collided with a flock of geese.

Then pilot then drove the plane between the tall buildings and finally crash landed in to the river - one eye witness said that it was a "perfect landing".

The pilot was identified as Chesley Sully Sullenberger of Danville, California.

The accident happened in one of the coldest day in the New York area but fire and police personals responded quickly and saved all 155 passengers.

President Bush commended those involved in the rescue operations.
