Stories about friendship and love are sure grosser in Tamilnadu box office. After the big success of trendsetter Subramaniapuram which was told in realistic shades, more movies in Tamil are following the pattern and creating films with the new formula which can be called ‘The Realistic Masala.’

Samuthirakani says “I have presented realism in this movie and not heroism; how people try to handle the problems in real life is that I have given in this.”

Samuthirakani who has played a villainous role in the film Subramaniyapuram directed by Sasikumar, is back as director while Sasikumar turns hero in Nadodigal which triggered interest in Kollywood.
Sasikumar after Subramaniapuram has followed up with his production Pasanga which managed to earn appreciation.

The film features 4 men and 3 women in lead roles who live their life with joy and aspiration of studying well and settling abroad. They hail from good families and believe in friendship (as in every Tamil movie). An unexpected situation surfaces which drives them into crisis and forces them to wander from place to place like the real Nadodigal.

As per director, Naadodigal will not fit in any specific category; it is an emotive movie and moves around the lives of couples. No duets or love songs are present. One more specialty about the movie is that one of the girls in the film is a deaf and dumb girl. The screenplay of this movie is unique in the sense that it will be interacting with audience. I have introduced about 120 faces in this movie.

From the words of director some may feel like ‘being different to be different.’

The story will showcase the different parts of Tamil Nadu with dialects spoken in those areas. Sasikumar is paired with Ananya in the film. The film is expected to delve deep into emotive relationships without gloss of heroism.

Music is composed by Sunder C. Babu. The film has four songs, mixing of those has been done in London.
Camera is done by S.R. Kathir, the same man who done it for Subramanyapuram.

The audio release function was attended by directors Bala, Ameer, Cheran and K. Balachander. Sasikumar was assistant to Bala and Ameer.
