Maestro Illayaraja is the music director of Paa in which Amithab Bachan acted as a 13 year Progeria affected child, who looks 20 years advanced in age. This was the film R. Balki made after the Big B starrer Cheeni Kum, in which Amithabh acted as a Chef.

Ilayaraja was so impressed by the story even when the director narrated him the script for making music. It was news when the maestro acquired the remake rights of the film. Earlier it was rumored that he is planning to cast the Superstar. The rumor gained impulse when news broke out that it made Rajinikanth cry. Many believed that Rajini will act in the Tamil -Telugu version of Paa.

Now it is almost confirmed that Kamal Haasan will act in the remake. He is known to take suffering as an actor to make the character real. The actor had recently met Ilayaraja about remake.

Kamal Haasan's last film was Unnaipol Oruvan in 2009. It was the remake of Neeraj Pandey's 2008 Bollywood magnificence A Wednesday.

Paa is based on a genetic condition known as Progeria and father son relationship. Critically acclaimed Bollywood film Paa has created waves in the minds of audience when released in last year.
