Payanam is a bilingual movie, made both in Tamil and Telugu, produced by Prakash Raj’s home production Duet Movies, along with co-producer Dil Raju. The film has Nagarjuna Akkineni and Prakash Raj in the leading roles. Payanam is directed by Radha Mohan.

Payanam is named Gaganam in Telugu. The film is based on a hijack drama of Indian Airlines flight IC 814. The Hijack in the film is taking place in the Tirupati Airport. The film is made in a huge set erected at Ramoji Film City at Hyderabad.

Payanam is an action packed thriller. Nagarjuna plays the role of a commando officer in Payanam. Prakash Raj also plays an important role in this film. The film will be a thrilling experience for the audience.

Poonam Kaur plays the leading lady, while Bharath Reddy and Bramanandam are the others in the leading roles.

The post production work of the film is currently progressing in Chennai. The film will hit screens in December, 2010.
