Pongal 2011 will see some grand Tamil Movie Releases. There are six films ready for release this Pongal. Some of the much awaited movies are going for release and wiill be a great entertainment for film lovers.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Kaavalan, Dhanush’s Aadukalam, Karthi Sivakumar’s Siruthai, and Pa. Vijay’s Ilaignan are the movies which are having very high expectations.

Sollitharava and Karuthakannan c/o Rekla Race are the other movies in the race. A number of small budget films may also come to theatres at the last moment.

Kaavalan - Vijay & Asin
Kaavalan is the remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Bodyguard (Dileep - Nayanthara). Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Asin play the pivotal roles. Kaavalan will be a great entertainer. Vijay, who is in trouble after many of his recent films flopped in the box office, looks forward to the release of Kaavalan.

Aadukalam - Dhanush & Tapsee Pannu
Vetrimaran's Aadukalam is also ready for release for this Pongal. Aadukalam is based on true incidents that took place in Madurai. Tapsee Pannu plays the heroine in Aadukalam. Aadukalam focuses on societal problems.

Siruthai - Karthi Sivakumar & Tamanna
Directed by Siva, Siruthai is Karthi – Tamanna pairs second film together. This is a remake of the Telugu superhit movie Vikramarkudu. Karthi plays dual role in this film, one as a police officer, while other is a pickpocket.

Ilaignan is the 50th venture by popular director Suresh Krishna. This film is based on a novel penned by Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi. Pa. Vijay, Remya Nambeeshan, Meera Jasmine, Khushboo, Namitha, Nasser, Vadivelu and Suman are in the main cast. Namitha is playing a negative role of a vamp in this film.
