Mambattiyan is the upcoming movie of director Thyagarajan. His son Prashanth plays the pivotal role, while Meera Jasmine is the female lead.

Vadivelu, Prakash Raj, and Mumaith Khan play other roles in Mambattiyan.

Mambattiyan is the remake of the Thyagarajan-Saritha starrer 'Malaioor Mambattiyan' which was a blockbuster in 1983.

Young actor Silambarasan has sung the remix for the popular song 'Kaatu Vazhi Pora Ponne...' in the film.

Mambattiyan's Story, Screenplay, Dialogues and Art Direction are done by Thyagarajan himself, in addition to producing and directing the film.

Anil Shekar has cranked the camera while Thaman has scored the music. Editing is done by Don Max.

Kota Srinivasa Rao, Vijayakumar, Riyaz Khan, Manobala and Raaghav also acts in Mambattiyan.

Mambattiyan is shot in many locations like Kodanadu, Dindi, Kambam, Theni, Malaiyur, Kochi and also in dense forests of Andhra Pradesh.

Mambattiyan will grace theatres on July 15.
