Surya and Tamanna in Ayan

Ayan is a forthcoming Kollywood film directed by cinematographer K.V. Anand. The film stars Surya Sivakumar, Tamanna Bhatia, and Prabhu Ganesan in leading roles and is produced under the AVM Productions banner.

The music composer of the film is Harris Jayaraj.

In Tamil: 'Ayan' is the name of Brahma, the Creator. 'Ayan' also means Shepherd. 'Ayan' is also a form of African drumming. 'Ayan' in Turkish, means "obviously" or "clearly".

Suriya, who has earlier done 'Perazhagan' with AVM, is doing his second movie with the prestigious company.

The story is said to be a romantic comedy laced with lot of action. Suriya plays a cool guy who makes others laugh.

Suriya recently developed his six packs which looks very awesome for him.

Tamanna, who has got a real break after her good performance in Balaji Sakthivel’s 'Kalloori' is quite happy to act opposite a leading young star.

The movie is scheduled to be shot in Malaysia and South Africa. Many of its portions will be shot in Chennai as well.

For several hundred sq.km. no man’s land, Surya, Tamanna and 40 member crew tented over there. In the night, its about 5 degrees, and in the noon, about 40 degrees under scorching sun, shooting was carried out.

Without any human scent, apart from nature’s obstacles, Nenje Nenje song penned by Poet Vairamuthu, was shot. The scenic locales which are ion the border of Namibia and Botswana were captured well and a song was shot at the desert coats.

KV Anand, who introduced Prithviraj in ‘Kana Kandein’ will introduce a new villain in his forthcoming directorial venture 'Ayan', starring Suriya. He is in search for a new face for the baddie role from other languages. Prabhu will done an important role in the film, produced by AVM.

Anand also added that Saigal is going to be the perfect foil to Surya’s character and the team is sure going to rock. Ayan shooting will go on till June 3 in Malaysia.

Ayan is releasing on March 22, 2009.
