After the success of Ayan a moderately successful Aadhavan followed. Surya's 25th flick Singam is directed by Hari who also has done Aaru and Vel with this star.

The story of Singam centers around smuggling activities in Rameswaram and the star plays a cop after Khaaka Khaaka. The director guarantees the film to have all the constituents including comedy, action and romance to hold the viewers. The producers believe that the climactic surprises will be the crowd attracting factor.

The ingredients are Anushka, Vivek and Prakashraj to balance glamour, comedy and villainous elements in the same order. While the gossips of Simbu – Anushka are spreading around in the internet world.

The film which marks Hari's 10th project as director was shot extensively in the interiors of Tamil Nadu, especially in places like Karaikudi.
