With most of his previous films flunking down with unfavorable results, Vishal has likely decided to play it safe with different genres. Yeah! For those who doubted whether to watch 'Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai' or not, we have a definite solution.

'Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai' is a passable show that has more interesting moments for 'B' class and frontbenchers. Of course, Vishal himself makes it a point during a course of dialogue delivery that he's not for Sathyam theatre (multiplex), but Parangimalai Jyothi (local theatre). So, it cannot get better than this as the actor himself offers you a clear-cut definition of 'TVP'.

To start off, the film is a commercial treat with lots of fun, frolic, action and romance.

The story revolves around Karthik (Vishal), a MBA graduate who wants best things in life. Precisely, when it comes to choosing his life partner, Karthik decides to fall in love with three girls at the same time and finally choose one amongst them.

Jyothi (Tanushree Dutta), an athlete always hates men, Tejashwini (Neetu Chandra) – daughter of one of the most reigning millionaires in city and Priya (Sarah Jane), who strongly believes in Pathi Parameshwar concept that is about fall in love and marries the same person.

What happens when Karthik makes them all fall in love with him forms crux of the story.

Vishal has come up with a moderate effort of entertaining the masses. He looks zippy and spanking enough to capture the interests of B and C centres. Watch out for his costumes and dancing style! It's quite impressive. Neethu Chandra, Tanushree Dutta and Sarah Jane have done justice to their roles. Since the film revolves much around three girls, no one tend to get more prominence while on whole, its Sarah Jane stealing the show. Neetu Chandra doesn't get much scope to perform, though it's hand-on-hand combat situation between her and Vishal during second half. Santhanam along with Sathyan and Mayilsamy keeps us thoroughly through mirthful moments. Prakash Raj hasn’t got much to deliver her as he appears not more than 3 scenes.

Yuvan Shankar Raja's musical is quite unimpressive. Barring couple of songs – 'En Jannal Vandha' and 'Poo Mudhal' are feet-tapping peppy numbers. Aravind Krishna's cinematography is top-notching while editing could've been better.

The first half moves along with lively moments while second half is slightly brimmed with mediocre. Major portions of the film including climax is clearly predictable.

Well, with Sun Pictures getting on for a vigorously vivid promotion, 'Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai' is sure to pick good collections at single screens while multiplex audiences with overdosed cognizance have nothing to do with this film.

Verdict: Time-pass movie. Watch it once
