15 May 09, 03:40pm

Actor, Producer, Director Kamal Hassan is all set to play Naseeruddin Shah's role in A Wednesday which will be remade in Tamil and Telugu. In Tamil version Mohanlal will reprise the role done by Anupam Kher, and in Telugu Venkitesh will essay the role.
The reason why Kamal selected A Wednesday

A Wednesday was a revolution.

It’s not a regular Bollywood film with item numbers and fights; there are no women in the film, other than that of a television anchor who chronicles the event.

This is a film that has class and can be shown to anyone in this world as an Indian film and we still can be proud of.

This film marked a solid foot print on the arrival of New Wavers in Bollywood. A Wednesday didn’t get any phony awards in fare and so on.

A Wednesday was released on 5 September 2008, told the story of certain events that unfold between 2 and 6 pm on a particular Wednesday, events which do not exist in any record
.
The opening shot of the film is so beautiful which sucks viewers into the celluloid.

A Wednesday is only one and half hour long. It didn’t boast A list actors to lure the audiences in hordes to theatre. It succeeded because the story had spine, the director Neeraj Pandey had vision and the script was tight.

Promos of many films mislead the viewer no end. They promise the moon, and fail to meet the expectations. For A Wednesday the promos were just the tip of the iceberg. This movie had so much to offer.

Anupam Kher and Nasaruddin Shah were apt for the role.

In short, A Wednesday is amongst the finest and bravest films to come out from Bollywood. When people saw this film they realized what a real good film is.

The editing, camera work, acting was all remarkable.
They have made a mark in the hearts of the people who actually matter

The Remake
Both the versions will be produced by Kamal under Rajkamal Banner and would be directed by Chakri, a US-based Advertisement filmmaker and a good friend of the actor. Rumors are heard that Kamal Haasan him selves is to direct the film.
Kamal had earlier remade Govind Nihalani’s Drohakaal in Tamil a few years ago.
The remake is also a milestone of sorts as it marks the coming together of two southern superstars Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal for the first time on the big screen.
According to a press release by Rajkamal, the film will be released directly in Tamil and Telugu. With Kamal and Mohanlal in the lead roles, this remake is no doubt promises to be a power packed must watch.
Unnai Pol Oruvan may release next year in association with the celebration of Kamal’s 50 years in the film industry. Mohanlal has completed 25 years in film industry years ago which had tagline ‘Ningalillathe enikkenda aaghosham’ is still remembered by malayalies.
Kamal who always wanted to become a technician is alleged to take full control of his film even while he acts.
Kamal Hassan’s attitude to filmmaking is to give what it takes. When he ties up with Mohanlal who is known for his histrionics, viewers can expect magic.
Kamal who is known as a genius is always eager to do something new.

Earlier Mohanlal and Kamal Haassan were planning to act together in the film based on the hijack of Indian plane IC 814.

Probably it will be put on hold as the actors don’t want to repeat themselves.

Unnai Pol Oruvan is based on terrorism which is currently the hot subject.
Viewers are expecting the finesse of this film as in the original. The tough question Kamal Hassan will be facing that how he can enhance the role done by Nasruddin Shah and enhance the film to a higher level.

Unnai Pol Oruvan is the one film which has high expectation level in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andra Pradesh.

Wait for this extremely pleasant surprise which will throw you up in the air.
