Mahabalipuram

Mahabalipuram is a small town in Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu. It is also known as Mammallapuram. It is an old port city. It has been named after the Pallava king Mamalla.

It was designated as a “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO in 1984 for its stunning range of monuments.

Mahabalipuram is one of the beautiful places in Tamilnadu. The rock cut temples and Mandapams in Mahabalipuram is worth seeing.

A trip to Mahabalipuram, the capital of ancient Pallava dynasty will be a very good experience to anyone.

Mahabalipuram has a beautiful beach also. A view of the long beach from the lighthouse tower up the rocky hills is an exotic scene.
