Jaya TV



Jaya TV is a Tamil language general entertainment television channel that is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The channel was launched in 1999 by the AIADMK political party and was originally named JJ TV after the party's founder, J. Jayalalithaa. However, in 2001, the channel was renamed as Jaya TV after Jayalalithaa's political party, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), took control of the channel.

Jaya TV is known for its programming that focuses on news, current affairs, and entertainment. The channel has also produced several successful television shows and serials, including the popular Tamil serial "Kolangal." In addition to its programming in Tamil, Jaya TV also broadcasts content in other Indian languages such as Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

However, in recent years, Jaya TV has been embroiled in controversies and legal issues. In 2017, the channel was raided by the Income Tax department for alleged tax evasion, and several of its top executives were arrested. Additionally, the channel's political affiliations and bias have been criticized by some for promoting the AIADMK party's agenda.
