Her first movie was the Hindi film Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, directed by Priyadarshan, opposite Akshaye Khanna.
Though the film did not do well at the box office, she was noticed by the Tamil and Telugu industry.
She proceeded to act in Kollywood, where she debuted in a guest appearance in Vaali with Ajith in the lead.
Her first Tamil movie as a heroine was Poovellam Kettuppar with Surya.
