Asin was born in Kochi, Kerala to Mr.Joseph Thottumkal and Dr.Seline Thottumkal. Her father is a businessman and mother is a Doctor. She had her school education from Naval Public School, Kochi and St.Theresa's Higher Secondary School, Kochi. Asin. Asin is studying B.A. English Literature at St. Teresa's College, Cochin. She was a initially a model and a business woman. Asin knows a number of languages like Malayalam, Tamil, English, Hindi,Telugu, Sanskrit and French.
Film Career
Asin started her film career in the Malayalam film 'Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka' directed by Sathyan Anthikkad in 2001. She was warmly welcomed by the Telugu film industry after her Telugu film 'Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi' opposite Ravi Teja. Asin played good roles in many Telugu films. She had some problems in the Tamil film industry with the cancellation of her first film 'Ullam Ketkumae' and another movie 'Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikalam' with Surya being stalled.
