Trisha Krishnan

Trisha Krishnan is a beautiful Tamil film actress and acted in a good number of Tamil and Telugu films. She was born on 4th May 1983 to Mr. Krishnan and Mrs. Uma Krishnan at Palakkad in Kerala. She belongs to a Tamil Brahmin family.

Trivia
Trisha Krishnan was brought up in Chennai. She did her schooling in Church Park School, Chennai and Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai. In school, Trisha was an allrounder and participated in cultural activities, sports and school band. Trisha is said to be a good ballet dancer. She is the only child to her parents and lives with her parents and grand mother in Chennai. Among her hobbies are listening to music, ballet, plays tennis, basket ball, traveling, reading and swimming.

Modelling Career
Trisha was into modelling before she entered the film industry. She participated in many beauty pagents and won the titles "Miss Salem Steel City" (1999) and "Miss Chennai" (2000). Trisha took part in Femina Miss India contest in 2001 and was awarded the title "Miss Beautiful Smile" in the contest.

Film Career
Trisha made her debut to the films in a small role in the film Jodi. But her first full-fledged film was Priyadarshan's 'Leysa Leysa' opposite to Madhavan. She acted in many films thereafter. But her beginning of the film career was marked with a number of flops like Manasellam,and Alai. Trisha won critical acclaim in the film Mounam Pesiyadhe opposite Surya. She rose to fame with her roles in 'Saamy' and 'Ghilli', opposite Vikram and Vijay respectively.

Trisha's Telugu movie 'Varsham' turned her into an overnight sensation and the film was a big hit of the year 2004. She acted in many famous Director's films and opposite many leading heroes of Tamil and Telugu film industry. Trisha is the first choice of film makers in these industries. She acted in many films like Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana(Telugu), Aayitha Ezhuthu (Tamil), Ji, Aathi and Aaru. Her recent Telugu movie, Pournami, directed by Prabhu Deva, was a flop.

Trisha's movie 'Something Something ... Unnakum Ennakum' opposite Jeyam Ravi was released in 2006 and was well received in the box office. Her Telugu films which did well were 'Sainikudu' with Mahesh Babu in 2006 and 'Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule' where she is cast opposite Venkatesh, in April 2007.

Trisha's latest and Upcoming Movies
Her latest Tamil movie is 'Kireedam' with Ajith. The film was released on July 20, 2007. Thefilm is getting good reviews from audience and media. Trisha's upcoming movies are three Tamil projects namely, Bheema with Vikram, Radhamohan's Abhi and an untitled Vijay-Dharani project. She is also signed up for one of Ravi Teja's Telugu films and a Gowtham Menon film in Tamil.

Awards
Trisha won the Filmfare Best Female Debut (Tamil) for the film Laysa Laysa in 2002. She was awarded the Santosham Best Actress Award and Filmfare Best Actress Award (Telugu) for the film Varsham. Trisha again won the Filmfare Best Actress Award (Telugu) and Nandi Award for Best Actress for the film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana. She was nominated for the Filmfare Best Actress Award (Telugu) for the film Athadu.
