The Institute of Orthopaedic Research and Accident Surgery (IORAS) was started in 1991 first at the premises of Chenthil Nursing Home and later at Devadoss Orthopaedic Hospital to address the need for a quality total Orthopaedic hospital for the southern district.
The hospital caters to varied social strata, keeping in mind their needs and the economic limitation. The hospital is authorized by the Tamil Nadu Government to treat Government servants and take up medico - legal cases.
IORAS has a full fledged trauma centre with ventilator and ICU back up an 3 state of art Operation Theatres with C-arm facility and laminar airflow.
The dedicated nursing staff are specially trained in Orthopaedics and provide efficient nursing care for the ailing patients.
