Suhasini Mani Ratnam is an award winning south Indian actress.

Suhasini is a trained costume designer, hair stylist and cinematographer. She is known as the first female student to graduate from the Madras Film institute. She made her film debut in 1980 with the Tamil movie Nenjathai Killathe.
She married Mani Ratnam and the couple have a son, born in 1992. She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada as well as Malayalam films.

In 1996, Suhasini stepped into direction, helming her first film Indira. She also wrote the screenplay for the film.

She is also a very talented make-up artist and hair stylist.
