Ulagalanda Perumal Koil is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture.

This temple is one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to Vishnu. Lord Vishnu is worshipped as Ulagalanda Perumal along with His Consort Lakshmi as Amudavalli.

It is believed that the Lord appeared as Vamana (the dwarf incarnation) and quelled the pride of the Asura Kind Bali.
