Kendriya Vidyalaya, Aruvankadu, one of the prestigious educational institution of Nilgiris, the queen of hills of Tamil Nadu. This centre of excellence which was first established in 1975 is situated in the lush green campus of Cordite Factory.
Aruvankadu is the vast expanse of 3.5 acres near the Ooty Coonoor main road. This defence sector school has classes I to XII with a strength of 760 students on roll and has 43 staff in rolls who has all along been striving to achieve academic excellence and development in the total personality of the students. It has moulded technocrats, doctors, engineers and administrators who occupies enviable positions in various walks of life and well placed globally.
The Vidyalaya provides opportunities to its students to participate in a variety of activities spread throughout the year. The Vidyalaya participates in Games, Sports and other activities organized locally and also at Inter Kendriya Vidyalaya level by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The activities include Mathematics Olympiad, Green Olympiad, National Level Essay and Painting Competitions, Adventure Activities, Educational Tours, Exhibitions, Scouting etc.
