Kendriya Vidyalaya, Island Grounds, Anna Salai, Chennai
Kendriya Vidyalaya Island Grounds was established in 1981 by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi a society under Ministry of Human Resource Development. The building of the Vidyalaya is constructed in the Army leased land of 6.6 acres.
The building was constructed as a deposit work by MES(Army) and taken over in 1990. It is to cater to the education of wards of Army, Navy, Coast Guard,Other paramilitary un uniformed Services and transferable Central Govt. personel.
In consonance with all round need for computer education even at the secondary level classes the school has established two computer laboratories with fourteen computers in network and necessary software, peripherals and accompanying facilities. The computer education has also commenced from class VI.
