Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 ,Kalpakkam was established in 1980. The Vidyalaya is run by KVS an autonomous body under the ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India. School is affiliated to the CBSE Board for Xth and XII.
Being located in the Department of Atomic Energy Township, it enjoys the Patronage of D.A.E. It serves the scholastic needs of the children of the employees and the neighborhood students of Mahabalipuram and Thirukazhukundram.
The school also has a scouts and guides team consisting of 30 boys in scouts and 30 girls in the guides movement. The activities of this group include periodic camps, theory classes on traffic rules, health care, first aid, etc.
