Dhanushkodi Ramasamy



Dhanushkodi Ramasamy was a famous Tamil writer.

Tamil Writer Dhanushkodi Ramasamy was born in the village of Kalingal Mettupatti near Sattur, Tamilnadu. His father was a school teacher. Following his father's principle he started his life as a school teacher and joined as a primary teacher in Ayira Vysiya Higher Secondary School in Sattur.

While teaching Tamil to the school students, he studied Pandit course, pre-university course and completed B.A., M.A., and M.Ed. courses. After some years, he was promoted as Headmaster. But, he considers that the new post will disturb his literature works. He resigns his new post and continues as an ordinary teacher in the same school.

Dhanushkodi Ramasamy wrote his first tamil short story, Simma Sobbhanam, in 1978. After 5 years, he published his second tamil book named Naranamma.

He continues his Tamil works regularly and releases books Sedharam, Theemthirigada, and Vazhgai Neruppu. His lonely tamil novel Thozhar came in the year 1985.

Dhanushkodi Ramasamy's tamil stories were published in Tamilnadu government’s textbooks.

Many tamil shcolars did their M.Phil and doctorate in his writings. In 1991 his short story was published in the famous tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan. Dhanushkodi Ramasamy’s works were translated into Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali.
