The program aims to empower rural communities by promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship, providing financial assistance and training, and promoting social inclusion and gender equity.

Jallikattu Protests: Jallikattu is a traditional bull-taming sport in Tamil Nadu. In 2017, the Supreme Court banned the sport, citing cruelty to animals. The ban led to widespread protests by the people of Tamil Nadu, who argued that the sport was an important part of their culture and tradition. The protests forced the government to pass a law allowing Jallikattu with certain restrictions.
